Arthritic Pain relieved with Sound Healing

Dora came to see me with crippling arthritis in both feet.   She could not feel the vibrations from the most powerful sound instruments for over 40 minutes. Then we watched in amazement as white, pasty, deformed toes went back into place and circulation turned her feet pink and rosy!  Here’s the article that was published about Dora:

The Sweet Sounds Of Healing

10-13-2006 — By MICHAEL MARCIANO Editor

WINSTED — A Laurel City woman who has gained national attention using resonant sound waves to heal illnesses ranging from arthritis to depression and even cancer says she hopes people around the world will be able to share in her discoveries.

Alice Violet Richard, or Alice Violet, as she is known to her clients, lives just off Highland Lake in Winsted and has been expanding her healing service — A Unified Matter, or AUM — to health centers, spas and community fairs, where she demonstrates the use of Tibetan bowls and other instruments to create healing frequencies. The art has been so successful that it landed her on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

During an introductory session at her home Tuesday, Richard said numerous clients have reported positive results to her, including a young woman with manic depression and an older woman whose arthritic feet were healed in one session.

“Any illness or pain is the result of a lower vibratory state,” Richard explained. “It becomes a block or a depression or a disease. Sound waves can pull it back — blood, bone or tissue — to its natural state.”

While the idea of using humming sounds to treat cancer may produce skepticism, 75-year-old Dora Basso of Torrington said her disbelief was eliminated recently at her town’s Sullivan Senior Center, where Richard participated in a wellness fair.

“She straightened out my toes and helped me walk better through sound healing,” Basso said by phone Wednesday, noting that she had recently experienced crippling arthritis in her feet. “I had no circulation. She spent about an hour on my feet. It really was amazing because I didn’t think it would work.”

Basso said she had been experiencing arthritic pain in her feet for years but that the condition had grown more severe in recent weeks. “I couldn’t stand walking,” she said. “And it bothered me that I couldn’t get around like I’d like to. I’m too young for that. The age is there but I don’t feel it, especially after Alice did this for me.”

Other testimonials have come from people with everything from back problems to psychiatric illnesses and the desire to quit smoking. Richard said it all boils down to “tuning up” the body and literally using sounds to “pull” its components into alignment. “Everything in the world has a natural frequency and sound can restore things to their natural state. It can literally rearrange molecular structure.”

During a demonstration with this writer, Richard used a small beanbag as an eye cover to intensify the focus on sound. The client lays flat on his back on a massage table as the therapy begins. Metal bowls, tuning forks, jangling chimes, cymbals and a deep-bass tribal drum send vibrations through the body. Bowls are placed on the body and stirred and tapped to sustaining melodic hums. Richard relies on her own intuitive senses to relate her assessments and suggestions.

Richard said she fully believes sound healing can cure any illness and notes that numerous Web sites, including curezone.com, have documented countless natural recoveries. Ancient Chinese medicine suggests that certain frequencies actually burn cancer cells. At the very least, the experience can be extremely calming and spiritually significant.

“There are sounds that bombard us every day,” Richard said. “There is noise pollution from appliances, traffic and other sounds every day that are not healthy. The things that are healthy are the human voice, instruments and sounds from nature. These things are in a frequency range that bring people back to a state of resonance.”

After hearing about Richard’s sound healing work at the Mayflower Spa in Washington, Conn., producers at “Good Morning America” called her to come down to New York for a live demonstration in July. “It was very, very exciting,” Richard said, noting that actress Uma Thurman was backstage and show host Robin Roberts was particularly impressive.

“Robin Roberts is just stunning. She is just so dynamic and has so much energy. I’m still waiting for her to call me for a session.”

Newspaper article- Young lady cures bipolar disorder with Sound Healing and Vocal Toning

Article:Wellness Center Sounds Out Teens For Healing Program10-21-2005 — By MELISSA JORDAN-REILLY Staff Reporter
WINSTED — When Hannah (not her real name) first went to the AUM (A Unified Matter) Sound Healing Wellness Center last January, she was not exactly a true believer in the center’s techniques.
After all, in the year since Hannah had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which includes overtones of depression and anxiety, the 22-year-old and her parents had tried a number of therapies, both traditional and holistic, as well a range of medicines.
But Hannah’s mother wanted to check out the healing center, near Highland Lake, after reading an article about healer Alice Violet Richard in the Winsted Journal.
“I was very skeptical about going, but I guess at that point I just wanted any kind of quick fix,” admitted Hannah.
“As soon as I met her, though, I automatically liked her. I saw her for about six one-on-one sessions, and after that things automatically started changing, My anxiety lowered from really, really high down to just a little bit,” Hannah explained.
“The transformation that’s occurred is just astonishing,” agreed Richard, noting that the change was apparent after a month or so, and increased when she added group sessions.
Based on her experiences working with Hannah and even younger clients who learned to better handle stress and to kick drug habits after attending Richard’s private and group sessions.
The program is expected to help with a number of issues facing many teens, from drug abuse to ADD/ADHD, stress, depression and anxiety. It would include both private and group sessions, and parents are encouraged to be actively involved.
Richard has already worked with several high school students in one-on-one sessions.
“I’ve recently started working with a 15-year-old who is under a tremendous amount of stress at school. They were looking at the possibility of taking him out of the school system and putting him into a specialized school in Hartford,” Richard said. “So I worked with him on some stress relief techniques, because teens that are having a great amount of stress. He felt better immediately.”
The program, she said, is a comprehensive one.
“It’s a combination of things. I meet with the teen and parents and figure out what the goals are, and then I meet just with the teen using sound healing techniques. The peer group is another facet, and will allow them to be able to see what other teens are experiencing and to talk about their conflicts at home and with teachers, while also doing vocal toning and the instruments.”
For Hannah, anxiety — especially about being around other people — became the bane of her life after she graduated from college and returned home. She soon found herself working in a job she hated, under an abusive, alcoholic boss.
“It was not a good situation for me,” she recalled this week.
But until she began working with Richard, Hannah lacked the motivation to find a better job, and was racked with anxiety about a class she had signed up to teach.
“But not long after I started [working with Richard] I was able to find, a better, more creative job. It just led me to a good direction.”
These days, Hannah creates and manages a Web site for a group of artists, and her own work was just chosen for a show at a nearby town’s art guild.
So what exactly are these mysterious healing techniques that have clients like Hannah so eager to give testimonials about its powers?
At the center, Richard used several techniques with Hannah, including sound healing, meditation, and just good old-fashioned talking, in both private and group sessions.
Richard’s sound healing techniques involve using musical instruments to achieve certain energy frequencies in the body, as well as teaching clients to use their own voices as instruments of healing.
“Vocal toning is something people find amazing and absolutely love,” said Richard of the technique of humming and making simple sounds, especially vowels sound, to achieve a certain grounding of energy.
“It’s about using your own voice to [achieve] shifted energy,” Richard explained. “The body becomes its own sound instrument. It’s about humming and other [techniques] having to do with using your own voice to make simple sounds, including vowel sounds, and balancing your own energy.”
Richard’s sound healing also relies on a variety of musical instruments — including Tibetan and crystal bowls, tuning forks, bells, remo drums and tinshaws (Tibetan bells) — to achieve certain vibrations which are said to help the body regulate its own frequencies.
“A lot of our group sessions start with bringing out the bowls,” said Hannah. “It’s really nice because she goes through the energy thing, and it gets us grounded before we open up our chakras. People have actually been saying to me, ‘You look very grounded.’”
While talk of chakras might leave readers picturing Shirley MacLaine ranting on “The Tonight Show” about traveling around the world while her body stays in a rocking chair, medical studies have nonetheless shown that sound healing achieves remarkable results with both emotional and medical conditions. That’s because the vibrations it generates operate in a similar way to radiation, which “cooks” cancerous cells. In China, scientists have found that sound therapy raises the temperature of cancerous tumors to 140 degrees, killing them instantly.
Richard pointed out that many consider the distinction between emotional and medical conditions to be fairly blurry.
“‘Disease’ is really ‘dis-ease,’ a lower state of being caused by lower vibration rates, and there’s a need to bring back that natural state of being,” she said. “So if we define emotional and physical illnesses as lower states of being, it makes sense that [there exists] a lower frequency in need of being raised.”
Hannah and other AUM clients are treated with this theory in mind, Richard noted. “If you’re bipolar, you’re operating on a lower frequency. Sound therapy raises that frequency.”
For Hannah, whose condition is considered both a chemical and emotional issue, the techniques she’s experienced at the AUM center have had a dramatic effect on her life, she emphasized. In fact, she remains still skeptical of some of the other healers she’s sought out, even as she extols the virtues of sound therapy.
“One healer told me that I should wear red to keep me grounded,” she laughed. “And I said, ‘Wear red?! What good is that?’ Then I went to a hypnotist, and that didn’t seem to work either.”
“I’d always been a negative person,” Hannah added. “But now I feel much more aware, much more positive.”

What does “RSS” have to do with Healing?

RSS can mean the difference between subscribing and trying to keep up with hundreds of emails, blogs and websites …or having one page with all that info sent to ONE page!!!  For people like me, trying to send hundreds or thousands of email notices, well it means that I can put it one place and know my subscribers will receive it as soon as I hit enter!

Well since “Stress Reduction” equals “Healing”, RSS wins in my book!

Check out the video from CNET, it really helped me! http://www.cnet.com/av/video/flash/rss_tutorial.html?tag=video

You will need to get a “Reader” which is used to view all your feeds in one place.  I’m trying out newsgator, the free online version.  You just create an account, and add whatever feeds you want,  Voila I had a feed in about a minute!

Sound Healing Session with a Musician

Tears streamed down this musician’s face as his soul experienced the climatic tones of my Tibetan & crystal singing bowls. I sensed his soul dancing among notes, flooding his being and removing “writers block” from his energy.

Later we exchanged these notes:

“It was such an interesting session, tuning into your being and getting all those musical notes! That’s a first even though I’ve worked with several singer’s and musicians! Today I thought how interesting it is that you’re getting back into the writing aspect…So in effect you have all the “notes” and you are deciding how to “organize” them! In that light, there is no wrong or right order…Just many possibilities!!!”

His message back to me:

“Hi Alice, Thank you for an amazing session yesterday. My energy is totally maximized and the flow is just awesome. I was so wired I hardly slept last night. And yes, there are so many notes. At the moment, there are so many that I can’t discern a single string of them into a song. I’m playing bits and pieces and having a blast, and that’s okay. I know it will settle down after this energy peak begins to even out and themes will begin to emerge. Right now I am a bubbling, radiating ball of energy. I feel clear, light, and positively energized. Thank you again. Fred”

Sound has this way of touching the highest realms and anchoring those frequencies (whether Jesus or angels) into the body (creating healing), into the room (creating sacred space), thereby bringing consciousness (heaven) to earth!

Many are drawn to have a [sound healing] session for the profound experience that only sound can deliver-of being immersed in healing tones from Tibetan bowls, drums, crystal singing bowls and the like.

I really love my sessions with musicians and singers because of their innate understanding of how deeply healing music & song can be.
